The state apportionment board is now working on new lines for Ohio's state lawmakers, and the ballot board has also decided on language for three statewide issues this fall. One issue not on the ballot is whether voters will be required to present photo identification. Sharing their thoughts on the photo ID proposal are Jennifer Brunner, the Democratic former secretary of state and the co-chair of Fair Elections Ohio, a coalition of voting rights advocates, unions and progressive groups seeking to overturn recent election reforms; Peg Rosenfield with the non-partisan League of Women Voters; and Lake County Republican Party chair Dale Fellows, the president of the Ohio Association of Elections officials.
The Ohio National Guard has some of the busiest members in the nation. There are more than 11,000 soldiers with the Ohio National Guard and nearly 5,000 airmen with the Ohio Air National Guard. Some of the most interesting work the Guard does is tens of thousands of feet in the air - refueling other aircraft in mid air. We take a trip to see how it's done, and learn more about the Guard's next big project - hosting one of only two Homeland Response Forces in the nation.
Many photographers plan trips to mountainous national parks, to the frigid northern tundra, to the rocky and sandy shorelines on the east, west and southern shores of the U.S. to try to find natural things of beauty to capture in photographs. But longtime Ohio photographer Ian Adams says there's no need to travel far from home, because there are plenty of scenic places here. Adams talks about his book "A Photographer's Guide to Ohio."
