Gov. John Kasich says Ohio should get more money from casinos, saying he thinks taxpayers "got a raw deal" from casino operators. He's also hired two out-of-state firms - for $400 an hour - to advise him on gaming policies surrounding casinos, electronic slot machines at horseracing tracks and Indian gaming. A bill allowing concealed guns to be carried into establishments where alcohol is served has passed the Ohio Senate. Ohio is on track to break a record for the number of death row prisoners executed in a calendar year with the execution of jailhouse killer Clarence Carter this week.

Nearly every state agency is taking a cut in Gov. John Kasich's proposed budget. But no agency is taking a bigger hit than the office of the Ohio Consumers Counsel - a 50% cut. Ohio Consumers Counsel Janine Migden Ostrander talks about why she's been told her budget will be slashed so deeply and what might happen if that stands.

Ohio's huge prescription drug abuse problem is getting more financial help from the state and the federal government. Talking about the problem and the road to a solution are the heads of two state agencies very involved in it. Orman Hall is the director of the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services. And Kevin Miller is the executive director of the Rehabilitation Services Commission.
