The Sound of Ideas - Closing The Prosperity Gap; Toxic Stress; Correctional Workers Exposed To Opioid Mixture

Play

The skills gap is the disconnect between the jobs that employers in Northeast Ohio must fill and the ability of the workforce here to do those jobs. The gap is wide, and it promises to grow as Baby Boomers age. We'll talk about why the gap exists, how it impacts prosperity, whether current efforts to close it are effective, and what needs to be done to keep the regional economy on track. Our Be Well Health Unit examines the impact of toxic stress in neighborhoods where gun violence is prevalent. Plus, an update on the Ross Correctional Institution in Chillicothe, where more than two dozen stafers were sickened by exposure to heroin and fentanyl.
