The Sound of Ideas - 8-12-2019 Poverty Speaks; Palliative Care

Play

Cleveland is the second poorest city in the nation in a county where the poverty rate is higher than it was during the height of the 2008 recession. There are plenty of statistics to share about the many among us who are struggling economically. Now, we're learning about the problem directly from those affected after a new anonymous survey solicited their thoughts on how difficult it is to climb out of poverty. Experts from The Center for Community Solutions and the Council for Economic Opportunities join me to discuss the results of the survey, along with two Clevelanders struggling to improve their situation. Later, we'll learn about palliative care and how it differs from hospice care.
