The Sound of Ideas - 2-26-2019 RTA Seeks Public Input For Study; Gas Tax Increase Proposal
The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is stretched so thin, it isn't able to make anyone happy. That according to a consultant studying a system redesign by asking for public input. The question is this: Do you want service in a broader geographical region, or more frequent service in a more restricted system? Then, we'll take a slight turn to another transportation topic: A funding crisis for Ohio road projects. Governor DeWine has proposed an 18-cents-per-gallon gas tax hike to fund infrastructure construction and repair. But none of it goes to public. Should lawmakers hike the gas tax and commit more money to transit?
