While many folks are finding an unpleasant surprise this tax season, lower returns or even owing more, Amazon paid $0 in federal income taxes for 2018 even as it pulled in record earnings. We need a tax expert to explain how this can be, and so we've invited Cleveland State's Debra Geier back to The Sound of Ideas. Also, we'll preview the University of Akron's "Rethinking Race" initiative.

Guests:
-Deborah Geier, Professor of Law, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University

-Danny Shoag, Visiting Associate Professor of Economics at Case Western Reserve University & Associate Professor of Public Policy at Harvard University

-Dr. Amy Shriver Dreussi, PhD, Co-Chair, Rethinking Race: Black White and Beyond, Professor of Social Science, The University of Akron

-Jolene Lane, Co-Chair, Rethinking Race: Black White and Beyond & Chief Diversity officer, University of Akron

-Lawrence Ross, Author, Blackballed: The Black and White Politics of Race on America's Campuses
