Jones and Kunze Announce Recommendations Addressing Ohio's Infant Mortality Rate.
Led by co-chairs State Senator Shannon Jones (R-Springboro) and State Representative Stephanie Kunze (R-Hilliard), the Ohio Commission on Infant Mortality was created by the 130th General Assembly to study the current inventory of state programs and funding streams addressing the issue of infant mortality.
Details of the Commission's Committee Report, Recommendations and Data Inventory follow four major themes-improvements in the collection and sharing of data, building on proven interventions, health system improvements, and addressing social determinants of health. Changes are needed both inside and outside the health care system, and at the state and local levels to address and remove barriers that prevent too many of Ohio's children from celebrating their first birthdays.

Hearcel Craig, (D-Columbus), Dr. Arthur James, Associate Clinical Professor at Ohio State University and Nationwide Children's Hospital, Dr. Patricia Gabbe, Founder of Moms2B and pediatrician at Nationwide Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Commissioner Tim Ingram, Hamilton County Public Health Director Angela Dawson, Commission on Minority Health Susan Ackerman, Joint Medicaid Oversight Committee Teleange Thomas, Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland
