The Director of the Ohio EPA, Scott Nally, and the Director of the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board, William E. Carleton, announce a new partnership to expand the recycling programs at the Ohio Statehouse. In recognition of America Recycles Day, Governor Kasich declared November 15 to be Ohio Recycles Day and the Statehouse Recycles Day.
Ohio EPA will be providing a special assistance grant to the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board to develop a more comprehensive recycling program that will allow expanded locations and materials recycled at "The People's House." The grant will cover the cost of a cardboard baler, permanent and special event recycling containers and the development of educational materials to promote the importance of recycling at the statehouse. The grant implementation schedule is estimated to take about a year.
