This is your Legislative Update for the week of March 16th.

In the Ohio Senate, Substitute House Bill 53 passed. Sponsored by Representative Grossman, this Bill makes appropriations for programs related to transportation and public safety. Sponsored by Senator Seitz, Senate Bill 38 also passed. This Bill provides transparency in contracts between the state and private attorneys.

The Ohio Senate passed one resolution for the week of March 16th.

In the Ohio House of Representatives, Amended House Bill 40 passed. Sponsored by Representatives Gonzales and Dever, this Bill authorizes the State Medical Board to impose fines rather than licensing suspensions for failure to comply with continuing education requirements. House Bill 11 also passed. Sponsored by Representatives Brenner and Ruhl, House Bill 11 creates a domestic relations division of the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas and creates a judgeship for that division. Sponsored by Representatives Dovilla and Retherford, Amended House Bill 24 passed. This Bill revises the laws governing the provision of adult protective services. Sponsored by Representatives Hagan and Ginter, Substitute House Bill 8 also passed. This Bill revises the provisions in the Oil and Gas Law governing unit operation. Amended Substitute House Bill 39 passed. Sponsored by Representatives Duffey and Devitis, this Bill permits schools and camps to procure and use inhalers for alleviating asthmatic symptoms.
