This is your Legislative Update for the week of May 5th...

The Ohio Senate passed Substitute House Bill 165, sponsored by Representative Roegner, excusing certified hyperbaric technologists from the laws governing the practice of respiratory care.

Amended Substitute Senate Bill 310 also passed this week. Sponsored by Senator Balderson, this bill make changes to the renewable energy, energy efficiency, and peak demand reduction requirements.

The Ohio Senate presented several resolutions during the week of May 5th...

In the Ohio House of Representatives,

House Bill 283 was passed. This bill, sponsored by Representatives Stinziano and Grossman, designates "Hang on Sloppy" as the official rock song of Ohio.

House Bill 452, sponsored by Representative Gonzales, passed this week, requiring children's residential facilities to provide specified information to local law enforcement agencies, emergency management agencies, and fire departments. This bill also requires the Department of Job and Family Services to implement a Child Placement Level of Care Tool Pilot Program.

Amended House Bill 465, sponsored by Representative Johnson, was passed. This bill designates the first week of July as "Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Awareness Week."
