In the Ohio Senate, Amended Substitute House Bill 234 passed this week. This bill allows for the use of noise-suppressing firearm attachments while hunting.
Amended House Bill 318 also passed, sponsored by Representatives Roegner and O'Brien. This bill changes the law governing the retail sale of utility and other trailers, changes procedure for governing motor vehicle shows, and permits motor vehicle dealers to display vehicles for civic or charitable purposes.
Also passed was Amended House Bill 404, sponsored by Representatives DeVitis and Slaby. This bill designates the Portage Lakes area in Summit County as the Purple Martin Capital of Ohio
Sponsored by Representatives Kunze and Stinziano Substitute House Bill 430 passed this week. This bill regulates self-service storage insurance.
Substitute House Bill 511 sponsored by Representative Sears passed this week. This bill suspends continuation of coverage requirements for emergency workers diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder arising from employment, eligible for compensation benefits under Ohio's Workers' Compensation Law.
Also passed was Substitute Senate Bill 250 sponsored by Senators Jones and LaRose, modifying adoption laws
Sponsored by Senator Burke, Amended Substitute Senate Bill 386 also passed this week, legalizing the use of 1.4G consumer grade fireworks.
Amended House Bill 326, Sponsored by Representatives Roegner and Reece passed this week. This bill exempts diabetic shoe fitter from licensure.
Substitute House Bill 394 also passed this week sponsored by Representatives Smith and Antonio. This bill modifies the authority of pharmacist and pharmacy interns to administer immunizations.
Also passed this week was Substitute House Bill 440 sponsored by Representative Brown, designating various memorial highways and bridges.
Sponsored by Representative Johnson, Substitute House Bill 463 passed this week. This bill makes changes to the laws governing dental professionals.
Senate Bill 339 also passed this week. Sponsored by Senator Hite, this bill creates the "Lincoln Highway" license plate
Also passed this week was Substitute House Bill 178 sponsored by Representative Phillips, modifying laws surrounding school safety drills; seclusion, restraint, and positive behavior intervention.
Sponsored by Representative Butler, Amended Substitute House Bill 201 passed. This bill revises entries of mortgage satisfaction, clarifies the status of volunteer firefighters under the Affordable Care Act, and makes changes regarding coverage for dependent children under parent's health coverage.
Substitute House Bill 247also passed this week. Sponsored by Representative Stebelton, this bill allows any person to perform automated external defibrillation.
Sponsored by Representative Gonzales, Substitute House Bill 258 passed this week allowing licensed spectacle dispensing opticians to dispense prepackaged soft contact lenses.
Also passed this week was Substitute House Bill 290 sponsored by Representative Stebelton. This bill allows for the use of school facilities by members of the public and civil immunity in various instances.
Substitute House Bill 319 sponsored by Representative Grossman also passed. This bill permits a natural gas company to apply for an infrastructure development rider to
cover costs of economic development projects
Sponsored by Representatives Driehaus and Sprague Substitute House Bill 367 also passed this week, requiring school health curriculums to include opioid abuse prevention instruction.
Also passed this week was Substitute House Bill 663. Sponsored by Representatives Buchy and Huffman, this bill makes changes to the law regarding confidentiality and licensure for the administration of lethal injections
