Deadline Now - 2-17-2017 - Bowling Green State University President Mary Ellen Mazey

There's never been a time when a college degree was a necessary as it is now, for virtually anyone who wants a middle-class lifestyle and a rewarding profession. Increasingly, that has been priced out of reach for many Ohioans and Michiganders. Bowling Green State University President Mary Ellen Mazey know that better than most of us. She was the first generation of her own family to go to college, let alone earn a PhD. What can she do about the cost crunch? What does she think of Governor Kasich's proposals to freeze tuition and make universities pay for textbooks? How does she feel about the pressure being put on universities because of President Trump's sanctions against immigrants? What are her remaining goals as she approaches her seventh year as leader of BGSU?

Dr. Mazey, President of BGSU
