Deadline Now - 12-23-2016 - Toledo Sports Teams

Toledo has something few other towns have - two thriving sports teams playing in the heart of downtown, the Baseball Mud Hens and the Hockey Toledo Walleye. In another perhaps unique arrangement, both teams have the same president and general manager, Joe Napoli. They both face some challenges, on and off the field and the ice. The Mudhens have what is still one of the nation's most beautiful minor league ball parks, but the team has been anything but beautiful recently - they've endured seven straight losing seasons. Meanwhile, the Walleye have been so hot the last few seasons they've been melting the ice - until they get to the playoffs.  So - what's the immediate future for both teams?  Are they still profitable now that the novelty has worn off?  Finally - how do you compete when your best players may, at any time, be snatched away by the parent club?
