Incredible at it may seem, every year, 30,000 children in Lucas County don't get enough to eat - a need that becomes especially acute when school lunch programs end for the summer. There's a group that's been doing something about it, mostly under the radar, for the past fourteen years. Feed Lucas County Children, has prepared and dispensed more than 1.2 million nutritionally balanced hot meals since 2002. Where does the money come to do that? Is this enough to meet the need? Are we doing enough as a community to address the problem of child hunger?
