Play

In 1849, one man's quest for freedom was heralded as one of the greatest escapes outside of the traditional Underground Railroad. Henry Brown became an iconic figure of the Abolition Movement after surviving a near-death journey of over 350 miles inside of a small wooden nailed crate that landed him in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Twenty-seven hours after being sealed in a box, Henry was resurrected into freedom on March 29, 1849. Magician Rory Rennick brings Henry's story to life.
