We drive over and under them, walk across them, close the gap with them and occasionally burn them. They are of course, "bridges." On this round of Applause we explore some of the ways we use bridges in Northeast Ohio, both physically and metaphorically. Cleveland's upcoming Ingenuity Fest bridges the gap between art and technology...and now takes place on what used to be the "streetcar level" of one of Cleveland's best known bridges the Veterans Memorial Bridge. On this episode we explore the unique design of this bridge with Cuyahoga County Engineer Craig Strong, meet two of this year's participants, digital graffiti artist Chris Yanc, and poet Ray McNiece and visit the Covered Bridge capital of Ohio, Ashtabula County.
