It's been 75 years since the U.S. detonated atomic bombs over Japan.

It remains the only use of nuclear weapons in armed conflict, but countries around the world have spent the last seven decades building their capacity, with an estimated combined total of nearly 14,000 warheads.

Today on All Sides with Ann Fisher we discuss the history and current state of nuclear disarmament.

Guests:
Alex Wellerstein, nuclear weapons historian and director of the Science and Technology Studies program at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey
Rose Gottemoeller, former Deputy Secretary General of NATO, former U.S. Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security
