Ohio's state board of education last week voted to give the thumbs down on an Ohio Senate bill that would shift much of the board's authority over curriculum and other issues to the governor.

In the resolution, the board said that is because its members are elected and have public meetings it should retain its powers.

Board president Paul Larue, one of eight members appointed by the governor, voted against the resolution. He said he's proud of the board's work but said the members have to be open to change.

We'll discuss this and more on our Weekly reporter roundtable.
