All Sides with Ann Fisher - 3-8-2023 B - Wellness Wednesday - Drug maker Eli Lilly announces price cap on commonly prescribed insulin

Play

Drug maker Eli Lilly last week announced that those with private insurance would pay a maximum of $35 dollars per month for its most commonly prescribed insulin.

The move comes as drug makers face intense pressure from the Biden administration, patient advocates and others to lower their prices.

While the new cap is welcome news to those with Type 1 diabetes and for some with Type 2 diabetes, the change represents just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the costs for those living with the chronic disease.

Adderall is a popular drug used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Now it's in short supply and the dearth is frustrating the millions of adults and children who rely on such drug therapy to manage their daily lives.

This weekend we spring forward, that is set our clocks ahead an hour in accordance with daylight savings rules and regulations. We're going to talk about the health costs of daylight savings.
