It's time to look inside your medicine cabinet.

According to a study released in November by the Cleveland Clinic, the six common dietary supplements do not lower cholesterol compared with either a low-dose statin or placebo.

As similar brands aren't regulated by the Food and Drug Administration, today we discuss things consumers should look out for if they decide to try out a dietary pill.

Nearly 5 million American children and adolescents were identified as being obese in 2022. Childhood obesity brings with it the same risks experienced by adults: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes, breathing problems such as asthma and sleep apnea and joint problems.

One thing most American children have in common is what they eat for breakfast and lunch at school each day. The Dept. of Agriculture last week responded to the threat with new school nutrition standards, including cutting sugars, fat and salt, and increasing whole grains.
