All Sides with Ann Fisher - 2-7-2023 A - The impact of youth voters on elections

Play

Young voters tend to be more passionate than their elders about the issues, but less passionate about showing up at the polls.

The drop-off between the age groups is typically long and deep.

The 2022 midterm elections were an exception, with the second-highest youth voter turnout in almost three decades.

Coming up, we'll look at younger voters, the issues they care about and what their action at the polls could mean for the political future of America.

Guests:

Ruby Belle Booth, Elections Coordinator, Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning & Engagement
Svante Myrick, President, People For the American Way, former Mayor of Ithaca, New York
John Della Volpe, Director of Polling, Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics, author of Fight: How Gen Z is Channeling Their Fear and Passion to Save America
