Leaders in the Democratic Party voted earlier this month to re-work their 2024 presidential nominating schedule.

They endorsed a proposal by President Biden that would place South Carolina in the leadoff position, followed by Nevada and New Hampshire, with later primaries in Georgia and Michigan.

The new calendar upends decades of tradition in which Iowa and New Hampshire start the presidential nominating contest.
