All Sides with Ann Fisher - 10:00 AM - LGBT Students and College Sports

Play

A few weeks ago, Ohio State's hockey team hosted the NCAA's first ever Divison 1 "Pride Night," in support of the "You Can Play" initiative, started by the N.H.L's Burke family. Professional sports have yet to see an openly gay player, but with the growing trend toward tolerance, a gay pro athlete may step into the spotlight. In this hour, we'll discuss what's new in college sports and how attitudes on homosexuality are shifting.

Guests:

Gene Smith, Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics at the Ohio State University
Sue Rankin, Research Associate in the Center for the Study of Higher Education and Associate Professor of Education in the College Student Affairs Program at Penn State University
Pat Griffin, Founding Director of Changing the Game
