Play

As Americans live longer, a subset of older Americans without partners, spouses, children, or siblings is growing.

They're known as "kinless seniors," and we'll learn about how this phenomenon is impacting the mental and physical health of older Americans.

We'll be joined by Rachel Margolis, Associate Professor and Undergraduate Chair in the Department of Sociology at the University of Western Ontario.

Also, clinical trials can be an important part of medical research when it comes to treating or curing diseases.

Patients who participate, however, may have unrealistic expectations for what they get out of the experience.

Dr. Mikkael Sekeres is Chief of Hematology at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami and recently wrote about this issue for The Washington Post.

Last week, the American Academy of Pediatrics released their first major update in 15 years to the guidelines for treating childhood obesity.

We discuss the new guidelines that emphasize early action in treating childhood obesity.

We talk to Dr. Ihuoma Eneli, Director of the Center for Healthy Weight & Nutrition at Nationwide Children's Hospital. She was a co-author for the new guidelines.
