2008 Presidential Speakers Series: Bloomberg Television's Al Hunt

Albert R. Hunt, Executive Editor of Bloomberg News' Washington Bureau, shares his insights on U.S. politics, the elements shaping the 2008 Presidential election, and Ohio's pivotal role in securing an Electoral College victory in this segment of the Ohio Cable Telecommunications Association 2008 Presidential Speakers Series. The event took place in the Ohio Statehouse Atrium on September 24, 2008.

Al Hunt is a print, broadcast and cable journalist whose career spans four decades. Hunt is the Washington Bureau Executive Editor for Bloomberg News. He also directs the Bloomberg/Los Angeles Times poll, writes a regular column on politics for Bloomberg News and the International Herald Tribune and hosts "Political Capital" on Bloomberg Television.

Prior to joining Bloomberg in 2005, Hunt spent 35 years at The Wall Street Journal as a congressional and political reporter, bureau chief and executive Washington editor. Hunt also directed the paper's political polls for 20 years and wrote the weekly "Politics and People" column for 11 years.

On CNN, Hunt was a regular panelist on "The Capital Gang" and a member of "Novak, Hunt & Shields." He has also served as a panelist on NBC's "Meet the Press" and PBS' "Washington Week in Review" and as a political analyst for "CBS Morning News." Hunt is co-author of a series of books on U.S. national elections by the American Enterprise Institute and co-author of the Brookings Institute's book, "Elections American Style."
Mr. Hunt's participation in the Statehouse Luncheon event of the OCTA 2008 Presidential Speakers Series was sponsored by Bloomberg Television. Previously featured in the series were events with David Shuster of MSNBC and political satirist P.J. O'Rourke.
